The Gyeongnam Development Institute(GNDI) is a non-profit and public-supported research institute to promote the quality of life and to make a balanced development of local area in Gyeongsang nam-do(Gyeongnam).
It was founded on December 1992 by the provincial government of Gyeongnam with 20 local governments within its jurisdiction.
The GNDI is established to perform research, planning and policy-making activities related to the development and the public welfare of the region. The Institute is authorized by the Provincial Assembly of Gyeongnam. A permanent endowment was set up by a consortium of provincial and local governments of Gyeongnam to support the Institute financially. In the era of globalization and localization, the GNDI is bringing up the vision of Gyeongnam and developing the various policies based upon creativity, imagination and pioneer spirit to support Gyeongnam. The GNDI is devoted to pursue its mission as the regional think tank for Gyeongnam. It is committed to perform its entrusted mission through high-quality research, planning, policy-making engagements, publications and international exchange programs.
